Echoes of Her Rebellion

God created man and woman equally at the beginning of time, in the cradle of existence.

No distinction etched in the hands of God, but here we stand in divided lands.

Why does she have to be so damn careful and tread carefully?

In the light, her every action was questioned.

She is being told to sit, to be quiet, and to blend in with the crowd, but she is actually shouting loudly inside.

While others walk freely down the darkened street, she is the one who is supposed to retreat.

Why must she watch the clock like prey, racing home before the darkness can sway?

Why is it that she is unable to work and pursue her dreams?

Is her ambition something they prohibit?

She is shackled with “don’t” and “can’t” from birth, whilst boys are urged to take and want.

Why does her grin make people afraid?

Is her clothing judging her freedom?

Men should be taught a different manner, so why does a woman have to carry that pepper spray?

Who is at fault when grades decline?

Her name, her affection, her intellect?

Why does society focus on her when the real blurry part of the globe is the outside world?

Instruct both dads and boys that deference is merited and not merely owed.

Because a woman’s strength is in her furious, unbridled power rather than in her pain.

Thus, let her rise, unbroken, unrestricted by social convention.

The world will witness her refusal to conform in her strength and rebellious shout.

She is lightning, she is fire, she is the first light of dawn,

Unwavering and unstoppable, she is prepared to battle.

Every woman is an untamed power, and the world will be reclaimed after her.
